So I'm going to start fresh with a new version, dubbed "217", as soon as I get more of a plot arc outlined ahead of time.
Until then, I'll continue posting poetry and perhaps a short story onto here.
Fair winds!
Love is...

FireworksMy car is parked just up the road. Getting here I walked a half mile. The trees at the lake lean towards me And the sand falls in my shoes while The air is blue with the moonlight Flashing around off the watery Pool's surface, defining clear As though I won the lottery, I count myself lucky to find My seat in the old July air At the water's edge, I lie back And look at you, my only care To see you point into the sky I see the first rocket's fire trail The first sound comes behind the light Of the explosive's shrieking wail We gasp as one and plug oFireworks

Brown EyesThe ocean roars like an angry lion. The sky is dark, but crystal clear. The ship now strays from its own course To land on rocks that seem so near.Brown Eyes
The crew makes ground at last Builds a fire in the sand Not but two leagues away From their home on dry land.
The men and the women dance Around the fire's heat Upon it they lay down The meal they hope to eat.
The men rejoice and women cheer Though meat may burn, the wine may spoil. The women laugh, men take their hands. Though the voyage takes their sweat and toil.
I see it
